Blogging in the classroom

I was thinking to myself, last week as I was leaving class (Integrating Technology in the Curriculum), about how I really never had any desire to create my own Blog or Wiki. They always just seemed a bit pretentious to me because I wonder who really wants to read my rantings, or thoughts on anything I have to say. I was a bit put off by the assignment to create these things. Then I started thinking about how these things could be integrated into my classroom of the future, and I realized that high school students LOVE to talk/think/write about themselves! Blogs and Wikis could be a great tool to get kids doing fun writing assignments in French and help correct and contribute to each others work. I'm applying for a long term subbing position at my former high school for the end of this academic year, and one of the question on the application is about integrating technology into the classroom. I'm glad that this class is already giving me ideas on how to answer this question!
